Benefits of Microneedling Everyone Should Know About

Have you heard of microneedling? It’s a great way to rejuvenate your skin and get that fresh, healthy glow back. Madhav Devani, MD, offers it to men and women at Ross Bridge Medical Center, in Hoover, Alabama. In this blog, Dr. Devani discusses the benefits of microneedling and how it can help you look your best in no time.

What can microneedling treat?

Microneedling is a cosmetic procedure that can help tighten skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and scarring. It’s also a good option for treating:

How does it work?

We use a small handheld device that makes very tiny pricks in your skin. As the needles prick your skin, they create microtrauma — microscopic tears — that stimulate your body to start the healing process and produce more collagen and elastin.

In the following weeks, your body will create new tissue to make your skin look years younger. You may have redness, pain, peeling, or minor bleeding for a short while after your treatment, but you should start noticing results within a few days.

The procedure can last up to 30 minutes depending on the size of the treatment area. Many of our patients need a few treatments to get their desired results. We’ll let you know how many treatments you may need when you come in for your consultation. Do note that the treatment is not recommended for people with keloids, skin infections, or active rosacea or acne.

Benefits of microneedling

Microneedling has many benefits. Here are our top reasons why you should try it:

Get a radiant, healthy glow

Microneedling is one of the easiest ways to take years off your appearance. When your skin has healed, it will look fresh and vibrant with a radiant, healthy glow. No one will know you had work done. Instead, they’ll wonder if you changed your diet or went on a long, relaxing vacation.

Erase dark spots and uneven skin tone

Say goodbye to sun damage, uneven skin tone, blotchy skin, and dark patches. Your skin tone will even out and look fresh instead of dull and damaged.

Reduce the appearance of acne scars

Microneedling can help scars look smaller and smoother.

Shrink pores

As collagen plumps up your skin, large pores will seem to disappear.

Look younger

Many fine lines and wrinkles will diminish as the news supplies of collagen and elastin fill in the lines and smooth out your skin.
